AlbanLearning Joins With AlbanRoundtable Blog
We at Alban are constantly learning better ways to serve the needs of congregational leaders.
One of the most important things we have learned in the past year is how important it is for us to move in our educational endeavors beyond being known only as a provider of quality information about Lifelong Learning.
As a result, we have taken a number of major steps towards an expanded role as a place where congregational leaders gather — sometimes in person and sometimes online — not only to learn, but to share in teaching us and each other, about the challenges of congregational leadership.
We are calling this more intentional and well-developed ‘convening’ role for leaders the Alban Roundtable. This label will be used to designate a variety of both onsite and online opportunities for extended conversation with you. This blog portion of the Alban Roundtable initiative as of today supersedes and replaces the previous, more narrowly focused blog, AlbanLearning.Org.
This entirely new AlbanRoundtable.Org site will continue to have Lifelong Learning as a central topic for discussion. We will not, however, be continuing to maintain a separate AlbanLearning.Org blog. In the near future, the AlbanLearning.Org web address will begin to forward you automatically to this new AlbanRoundtable.Org address.
The Alban Roundtable is a gathering place for leaders in congregations and other communities of faith and spiritual practice. In addition to this blog, the Alban Institute resources congregational life through online seminars (or webinars) , an Online Learning Center, the Alban website, podcasts, the free online Alban Weekly, and our Congregational Resource Guide.
We hope that the Alban Roundtable will be a destination that you visit often as we together seek ways to respond intentionally and thoughtfully to the realities of the changing world around us, rather than feeling compelled to react in haste to each and every bit of news that comes across our computer and television screens.
We look forward to having your voice become part of the conversation around the Alban Roundtable.
